Off the beaten path in Sarria, in the northern part of the city, is O.K., a small bar and restaurant that serves actual, authentic American hamburgers, with chips and a pickle. (A word of warning—they’re served extremely rare; requesting more doneness is mostly a futile endeavor.) The bar is decorated with an NYC theme, from the juke box sporting a backlit photo of the skyline to the glass cases of baseball caps from American sports teams that line the wall. The prickly owner isn’t known for his friendliness, but the burgers and beers—American!—are sometimes a necessity. There’s a big flat-screen for sports watching.
