Our visit to the Jardin Botanique de Montreal in late May on a cloudy day presented a peaceful, enchanting experience. With the exception of a few preschool groups, we nearly had the entire place to ourselves. The gardens themselves are beautiful, extraordinary and lovingly tended. The place is so large that one could easily spend an entire day exploring the 30-some thematic gardens and 22,000 plant species. Yet it has the appearance of being small and intimate with numerous secluded spots for families to picnic and lovers to embrace. It is a Montreal must-see!
