About this place:

The West End is one of the most densely populated areas in the world, and the second most densely populated neighbourhood in North America. Area stretches west of Burrard Street, and south of Georgia Street.

Most of Vancouver's cultural and entertainment amenities are located on the downtown peninsula and the West End is home to many of them. Head down to Robson Street, the Rodeo Drive of the North, for some great shopping or over to Davie Street to experience the heart of Vancouver's gay community. In the summer months, head down for a swim in English Bay. During the last week of July and first week of August (on Wednesdays and Saturdays) find a seat somewhere along the shore and watch the Symphony of Fire fireworks competition with another 250,000 spectators!
