Spice Market

Just off the famous Galata bridge in the Eminönü neighboordhoud a big and old market-hall stands in front of you, Istanbul's Egyptian Bazaar. This spice market was built in 1664 and is filled with exotic fragrances such as spices, dried fruits, nuts and seeds, lokum (Turkish Delight). Around the Bazaar you find many more stalls, with the Uzunçarsi Caddesi ("Longmarket Street") going up leading to the Covered Bazaar (Grand Bazaar).
